Metals, especially steel and iron, have started to replace the standard building materials. Today, stadiums, bridges, petrol stations and other facilities are largely made of steel structures. When metals are exposed to different weather conditions, they tend to lose their properties and if not properly protected start to decay.

This is why, our company Tekol d.d. specialises in protecting steel structures against corrosion.

Capacities at different locations:

Tezno Maribor

Our main site for heavy workshop corrosion protection is located at Tezno in Maribor. Dimensions of workpieces: up to 5.5 m in width, up to 6 m in height and up to 20 m in length. Maximum weight is 100 tons.

Rače

In Rače we have a site for heavy workshop corrosion protection in the surroundings of Maribor. Access by lorry is possible.

Krško

We have a smaller workshop for corrosion protection located near the Krško nuclear power plant. At this site, we offer support to the power plant and if needed, also perform services for other clients from this area.

At all locations we ensure the following services:

abrasive blasting;
thermal spraying (zinc and aluminium alloys);
protection with coatings (coating materials made by local and foreign manufacturers).

To ensure the quality of our services we use the most modern equipment.

Rubber coating

Rubber coating is performed with rubber foils, which are often used to protect metal or concrete against chemical impacts or abrasion. The durability of the rubber coating depends on the appropriate ratio between the adequate quality of rubber foils and the quality of the rubber coating process.

Our company Tekol d.d., performs cold rubber coating with already vulcanized (precured) rubber foils. Since the foil has already been vulcanized, there is no need for additional thermal treatment to ensure the chemical, mechanical and temperature resistance of the rubber.

Competence

Certificates ISO, Frosio, Chartek.

At least once a year, our employees attend a training programme to upgrade their knowledge on equipment, to learn about innovations in the sector, etc. This training programme is attended by production workers as well as foremen.

Trainings are carried out at seminars hosted by suppliers of coating materials and also by our customers (NEK).
